ÖH Insurance

Every member of the ÖH is automatically insured with Generali Versicherungs AG for the respective semester (until the end of the grace period of the following semester).

The ÖH insurance coverage consists of

  • accident insurance and
  • liability insurance

Important: Although the ÖH is the policyholder, i.e. the contractual partner of Generali Versicherungs AG, the insured person is you! Therefore, you have to take care of any insurance benefits on your own.

If an accident or damage occurs, the next step is to report the incident using the form which you can pick up from the ÖH Department of Social Policy or download online. You can send them to the insurer either by mail or scanned at oeh-versicherung.at@generali.com. It is best to add all available documents, evidence, police reports, etc. - this will make the process easier and faster. But always keep a copy of the documents with you, otherwise you won't know later what you have already sent.

Confirmation of insurance

Sometimes you need a confirmation of a valid accident or liability insurance for an internship or a semester abroad. This is issued by the Federal ÖH. Please write an email with the subject "Confirmation" to studierendenversicherung@oeh.ac.at and send the following documents/info:

  • Name and address
  • Matriculation number and name of the university
  • Confirmation of enrollment (confirmation of payment of the ÖH fee)

 

Please note: the ÖH insurance does not cover nor substitute health insurance!
