Investigation of the immunological processes in the context of bee/wasp Ultrarush-specific immunotherapy initiation and their correlation with clinical tolerability

Background
The efficacy of specific immunotherapy is explained by the upregulation of Treg and specific IgG against the antigens, so that IgE-mediated allergic reactions are inhibited in the long term. However, tolerance in the Ultrarush protocol develops within a few minutes/hours. How this very rapid tolerance development works is poorly understood.
One possibility is that the release of soluble IgE-binding factors inhibit allergic reactions.

Aim

The aim of the project is to immunologically monitor the developing tolerance response at the serological and cellular level to understand how exactly tolerance occurs, or why it may not occur in individual patients. 
 

Tasks
- Assistance in study preparation (preparation of documents, ethics submission)

- Support in patient material collection (transport, archiving)

- Evaluation in the laboratory using the ELISA method and FACS analysis
